Our grand fathers fought and died, they marched, flew, served in naval conflict and withstood terrifying odds and yet prevailed.
We have to sit on the sofa, watch Netflix and avoid social contacts.
Let’s not screw it up!
but... yep, it’s tough.
no work.
no school.
people being cooped up.

hi, just curious to know if anyone knows of witnesses not applauding the nhs on thursday night.
all i know is for some reason my mum and aunt only went out to listen but didn’t take part in the applause.
not sure if they were just being strange or if there has been instruction not to take part.
We were in the middle of being "zoomed". I was sitting reading my Kindle and left the room and went outside. We live in a very quiet area and I didn't expect much.
I was amazed, the neighbourhood was making proper noise and I was pleased to join in. It was a truly moving moment and I was pleased to be part of it.
Afterward I spoke to a family member who is an elder and asked if there was any good reason why as a gesture, a meeting could not be briefly interrupted to show appreciation for these genuinely selfless heroes. What good PR to join in something so uncontroversial. " Never going to happen" was his reply.
They are all terrified to do something unauthorised, no matter how justified and particularly if it celebrated human quality. I despise them.
lol!
having commented earlier on experts' differing views, here's a prominent german physician/politician - wolfgang wodarg - who made controvorsial statements that the coronavirus "pandemic" is not out of the ordinary and that italy's mortality rate (8,215 deaths from coronavirus so far) is no greater than it would normally be from the 'flu virus.
in 2017/18 approx 18,000 italians died due to the flu.. the wikipedia section - controversial theses in the 2020 covid 19 crisis - is worth examining.
His views are interesting but dangerous. During the early days of the build-up to this I struggled to get my own head round it. The winter mortality stats are terrifying even during a normal year, what is so different now
The death rate for the infected was said to be 1 to 2% little different from regular flu virus's.
The penny dropped with me when I saw the infection potential in any population 60/80% rather than 12/15% in a normal round of flu. That makes the numbers staggering, this creates an impossible treatment load for any health system in any country.
So yes this pandemic has to be taken with the utmost seriousness, doctors, nurses, police, supermarket staff and many other people are in my view heroes, courageous in the most selfless way. I salute them.
Don't let this sort of fake news alter your resolve to beat this by whatever means are in your power.
just received a text yesterday...lovebombing to return with so called proof of the gt starting...scaremongering at its peak!.
"hey.
missing you at the meetings.
I would never underestimate the severity of the current crisis. I would also not underestimate the the power and muscle of science to eventually get on top of it.
The one thing that is certain is that whatever the outcome, it won't be influenced by any supernatural power whether sitting on a horse firing burning arrows or whizzing about in some mysterious chariot.
We live or die by the exercise of our own intelligence and resources. There are no guarantees that the human race will survive, We seem to be doing our best for it not to, the truth is though that it's in no one's hands but our own.
unleavened bread has no yeast in it.
and yeast is a symbol of sin, right?
not good for symbolising whatever it's supposed to symbolise, obviously.. so my beloved missus, who i believe is possibly the best cook in the world (although i do have a soft spot for chef nigella lawson with those magnificent knockers and all) is an absolute ace at baking sourdough bread.. and yes, sourdough bread - especially when toasted - is absolutely yummy.
Sourdough bread is made by adding to virgin flour and water "leaven. Leaven is fermented flour and water and contains natural airborne yeasts and bacteria.
So, a little leaven ferments the whole lump.

Once again, the information arrives neatly packaged, ready for perusal and smelling of hot ink off the press. Once again, thank you and be safe.

rub a dub .
When was the last time anyone licked a stamp or envelope? Still I suppose the virus can stick to surfaces.
as sgt pepper sang, "it was 20 years ago today" ... that i made my first post on my first forum.. i obviously didn't put too much thought into what it should say although i must have burned 45 posts testing things and was too lazy to reset the counter before going live (?):.

but somehow, it worked and grew and here we all are, 20 years on.
This site comes under the category of something that if it didn't exist would have to be invented.
Simon, we will all be forever indebted to you. By bringing us together you have helped us to discard guilt and cherish truth.
Thank you Simon
Say it as it is Cofty. Keep well, stay safe!
my area is a large city spread across two u.s. states and multiple different cities and counties.
the area of 2.5 million is covered by parts of 4-5 different circuits.
many of those attending meetings are at-risk individuals with health problems or age related risk.
Who says they aren't doing this and what evidence is there? I can see having a specific personal beef with the JW's or not agreeing with their doctrine but it seems like people just make assumptions about anything they want to and run with them without providing proof or examples of what they are claiming.
I do! I live in a city of 600,000, I have family who are in the centre of this. I am not making assumptions, I am simply observing what is going on. I know that the elder’s meetings have simply been about how to provide on line meetings twice a week. This is nothing to do with doctrine but simply skewed priorities.
